I will be a good blogger yet!

They say that breaking up is hard to do. It’s certainly much harder if you have to be dumped by a man who proves himself week after week to be a permanent fixture in the tabloids and on all the gossip sites that are shoved in your face. Thank God for wine and friends…and tissues. Did I mention punching pillows? That’s a great release.

My ex, Jake Williams, broke up with me in a completely amicable way. He met another woman and simply moved on. I, however, was left stuck in the mud. I couldn’t move forward, I wasn’t allowed to live in the past and I no longer had a future with him. So, I was simply stuck.

No one outside of LA would EVER have to deal with this bullshit. Give me one example where a woman in Minnesota drives down the street only to look up and see her ex on a billboard for his newest action flick. Yeah, didn’t think so. Ah, LA. I’m learning to embrace it and all of it’s character(s)…pun intended.

See, I moved to Los Angeles because my career brought me here. I’m a stylist and I love my job. I work on fashion shoots, commercials, movies–whatever comes my way. I was offered a position that I couldn’t refuse. I was asked to style (pull together clothes) for a photo shoot for Nylon magazine (my fave!) that was featuring my now ex-boyfriend, Jake Williams, on the cover. It’s a simple story: I dressed him and we soon undressed each other…first with our eyes then with our hands. The whole situation moved rather quickly but it felt right.

We were together for two years after that initial meeting and just as quickly as it started, it simply stopped. Now, I feel like shit. I guess I’m in my grieving stages. Is that shit real? The stages of loss–are they pertinent to love and loss? I don’t know.

Regardless, I plan on keeping you all up to date with my coping mechanisms and stories about how I will learn to live my life again without Jake. Dear Diary, I suck right now and I can’t seem to find myself…totally lost. Help!!!
